Itamar was born in 1985 and has been making and playing Shakuhachi since 2009. He studied professional Jiari Shakuhachi making under the famous maker - Ichijo Kobyashi in Osaka, Japan and honed his Shakuhachi playing skills under the tutelage of Michael Chikuzen Gould, Leijun Kobyashi, Joseph Pepe Danza, and Yoshio Kurahashi. Itamar has played in various bands, recordings, and events in Israel and Japan, showcasing his musical talent and versatility. He teaches a flute-making workshop at the prestigious Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, where he shares his knowledge and passion for the craft. In addition to the workshop, Itamar also offers private and group lessons in both Shakuhachi flute making and playing. His teaching methods are engaging, interactive, and designed to bring out the best in his students. Itamar currently resides in Kiryat Bialik, Israel, where he continues to create, perform, and teach.
