Tago Indō (Tago Mitsuo) was born October 29, 1911. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Kimura Aibai, Serizawa Shōdō, and Aoki Shizuo (Reibo II). He started teaching in 1961. With a career of more than 40 years, he was a member of the Gunma Sankyoku-kai, the Takasaki Hōgaku Buyō Kyōkai, and the Shakuhachi Mutsumi-kai. He was recognized with an award by the Takasaki City Superintendent of Education in 1971.
